PM: Plastic Should Not Exist in Seas, Rivers, Forests or Lakes

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen has said that plastic should not be everywhere in the seas, rivers, lakes and forests. He noted that plastic pollution is a problem that persists all over the world, and has especially negatively affected seas and oceans.

Speaking on the occasion of the 11th National Clean City Day on Monday afternoon, 27 February 2023, in Phnom Penh, Prime Minister Hun Sen said that while the world is working to prevent plastic pollution in the sea, Cambodia has vowed to remove all plastic pollution in the country's rivers, lakes and forests as the first step.

"Plastic should not exist in the sea, river, forest or lake," he said.

The Prime Minister urges further cooperation and partnership to reduce environmental challenges and solve the pervading issue of plastic pollution.
